01

A kid and his classroom

At the age of 16 I was put into the unique situation of being the I/T specialist at a car dealership. In this position I was forced to learn skills such as patience, and empathy in situations where I was 10-20-30 years younger than those I was working with. For 5 years I led classes to people who looked at me like a child, because I was one. But they left those classes with respect for my efforts. This taught me at a very early age how to properly deal with conflict and stress with clients.

02

Running from the real world

At my father's suggestion, I went to university as a Finance major. I had always been great with math, but my focus was the money. I learned very quickly that I was not cut out for the "business world". It was during this time I learned a lot about myself and the situations in which I worked best. To my family's shock, I found my passion was in the "stupid little graphics" I was making for friends in my free time. My parents didn't understand, and I really didn't at that point either, but it would soon consume my life.

03

Youtube University

I would be embarassed at the amount of time I spent watching design tutorials. I learned how to design out of a desire for convenience. Why wait or pay for someone else to do something I can just teach myself? This thought process can be applied to anything, but it drove me to dabble in every field possible: Social media, advertising, merchandise, etc. Every morning was a new idea, but all it took was one.

04

The Emerald City

The great, big GreenWall on the horizon. The thing you reach for but KNOW you're never going to get. But I did, and it was glorious.

I learned more here than I ever could've expected under the tutelage of my mentor and boss Mike "Omens". He broke down the ego I had and rebuilt my confidence by teaching me the right ways to do things. As all boss/employee duos should, we butted heads, and that was the best thing for the brand. This experience made me a teamplayer, It forced me to get comfortable being uncomfortable, and WOW did I learn how to meet a deadline.

05

The Next Idea

Now we are here, and I can do anything I want.

Lets make some cool stuff.
